   Frequently Asked Questions

Should I eat before I come to yoga?

An empty stomach is best for yoga practice; generally wait 2-3 hours after a heavy meal to practice yoga. Snack on juice or fruit if necessary.

What shall I wear?

Wear loose, comfortable clothes that allow freedom of movement. You are welcome to change when you arrive. Out of respect for other students, please avoid perfumes and heavily scented items.

What should I bring?

We supply items such as blankets, mats, and pillows (except in specific classes, such as Restorative Yoga). Bring your own items as well.

What is class like?

Ananda Yoga for Higher Awareness is a carefully balanced system of classic Hatha Yoga practices that promotes the health, vitality, and self-awareness of body, mind, and spirit. We begin with warm-up exercises and breathing techniques and include affirmations to integrate our postures. We end with deep relaxation and a brief meditation.

How early should I arrive for my first class?

Arrive 15 minutes early. This will give you time to register and meet the instructor.
