Exterior Detailing & Venting, August 21-28

After our last workday on August 13th, a small team finished up sheetrock, mud, and paint in the primary school classroom, which is gearing up for a new school year shortly.

The following week (after Spiritual Renewal Week at Ananda Village), some small teams finished up a number of exterior details. One of the areas of focus right now is to complete any work up high that requires the scaffolding so we can return it and save any further rental costs. So we actually have final stucco and paint on the highest parts of the exterior!

We also got more sheetrock done on the inside of the foyer which is now really starting to take shape. What's more, we received the frame for the front door and had new venting installed in the sanctuary which has dramatically improved the air flow.

Work on the entryway and rooflines. Compare with pictures from the last update to see
the addition of soffetting (flat boards under the eaves), trim paint and stucco around the window,
and the backing boards for additional stucco.

From inside the sanctuary the backdrop against the window is much
cleaner thanks to the soffetting.

Venting work inside the sanctuary: a new air return from the back of the room and
completion of venting up through the dais.

We also received the door frames this week--in the upper left of this picture you can see
the venting from the foyer air return into the sanctuary.

A number of sheetrock details were completed, including the
back area of the cathedral ceiling.

Another view of the outside work.
