Installation of Lotus Window, July 7th
Early in the morning we met
with the folks we hired to install this large triangular window. The man
who etched the window was also there to see his handiwork in place.
Cutting pieces for the window frame, plus the requisite early-morning
snacks!

The window first arrives (below left).
The first attempt to lift the window by hanging it from the forklift
(below right) didn't work
as we couldn't get the window high enough to slide into the opening.

The installers then strapped the suction-cup frame higher up on the
forklift.
This second attempt almost worked...we just had to move the frame down on
the glass
another six inches. On the third attempt, the glass could be lifted to the
necessary height.

Once the glass was up, Eric got up on a very tall ladder and screwed in
some blocks
so the guys on the inside (up on scaffolding) didn't have to hold it all
day!

A little polishing...then we moved the scaffolding outside to complete
the exterior frame.

Smiles for a job well done!
