Becoming a Member

Two Ananda memberships are open to you. One is a general membership in the Ananda Worldwide Sangha (details...); the other is a specific membership in the Ananda Sangha of Portland which will automatically confer membership in the worldwide group.

Membership is open to anyone who feels in tune with our ideals. Here in Portland, we specifically ask for your financial support of our local center through which Ananda's work has come to you.

To become a member of Ananda Portland, please complete our membership form. If you have questions or would like to talk more about membership before you decide, please call us at 503-626-3403. We're happy to schedule a meeting with you as well.

Financial Support

Everything you see at Ananda Portland was developed and is supported by the people who share the experience with you—people who sit next to you in class and celebrate with you on Sunday mornings.

There is no endowment fund, no wealthy patron, no distant central office to pay the bills. There’s just us and God’s grace, and our sincere desire to create and share with others a haven of spiritual light in the Portland area.

If you feel inspired by what you are receiving, you may also want to add your part to the expansive and generous spirit that makes Ananda possible. Many people have worked hard and have given generously over the years to make Ananda available for you. Now you have the opportunity to help other truth-seekers find the path of Self-realization.

If you choose to give by tithing (see article), you may also discover in the act of giving money a powerful new spiritual practice. Tithing activates the subtle connection between your faith in God and the flow of Divine Mother’s blessings in your life. On the following pages you’ll find an explanation of what tithing is and why it is so beneficial.

We often say at Ananda: Many hands make a miracle. Ananda itself is the living proof.

What Your Donations Support

Circles of Giving

Ananda members are encouraged (but not required) to become part of one of the Circles of Giving—please indicate your choice on the membership form.

Gold Circle: Tithe 10% or Pledge $300/month or more. Gold Members attend Ananda classes and paying events for free.

Blue Circle: Tithe 5-9% or Pledge $100-$299/month. Blue Members attend Ananda classes and paying events on a donation basis, offering what they feel inspired to give.

White Circle: Tithe 1-4% or Pledge up to $99/month. White Members attend Ananda classes and paying events at a 25% discount.
