Good Company: Ananda members
are active in Ananda. We have fun together, we inspire each other, and we
create a dynamic vortex of energy that uplifts others. Power of Prayer: Ananda members
pray for one another and for those who are in need, either informally
through our friendships or by becoming part of the Ananda Healing Prayer
Council. Helping Hands: Ananda members
help in practical ways with the running of the Sangha. This ranges from
just lending a hand at an event you are attending, to doing projects at
home, to volunteering in myriad ways. You make friends, see Ananda up
close, and help make good things happen for others. Sunday
Service appears magically each week with the help of two dozen people! Community Living: Ananda members
have the opportunity to live at Ananda Community in Portland, a 52-unit
apartment complex with 60 residents who are devoted to Yogananda’s
teachings. Right Livelihood: Ananda members
enjoy working together at the Temple and Teaching Center or in member-owned businesses. Spiritual Guidance: Ananda
members may, if they choose, enter into a relationship of ongoing
spiritual guidance with one or more of the ministers. Financial Support: Members
support this work financially. Everything you see at Ananda was created
and is sustained by the people around you. Many members tithe, and some
give a fixed monthly donation. No set amount is required. You decide how
much and in what way to give. Friends Around the World:
Membership in Ananda links you to Ananda friends worldwide, including
retreat opportunities at Ananda Village in California and Ananda’s center in Assisi,
Italy, and receiving the Ananda's quarterly magazine, Clarity, which
includes early writings of
Yogananda and recent talks by
Swami Kriyananda. Ananda's Gift to You As our way of giving back to those who support Ananda, members who provide financial support receive reduced rates (or even free entry, depending on your level of support) to most Ananda activities and classes. There are also special member events and satsangs during the year.
