Meditating in the company of others is a wonderful way to deepen or renew your meditation practice, taking advantage of the magnetism of the group's combined efforts. In such a dynamic environment of stillness and devotion it becomes easier to overcome restlessness, open the heart, and meditate for longer periods. (More on our Meditation pages...) At Ananda we offer a number of opportunities to meditate with others who have been meditating twice a day for 10, 20, or 30 years, even longer. Our environment is peaceful and you're always free to wiggle as you need, take a sip of water, or use the restroom or step outside to stretch a bit. Meditation need not be an endurance exercise! We have a number of group meditations during the week. The first is on Sunday mornings from 9-9:45 during which we perform a fire ceremony as well as Ananda's Purification Ceremony. [More details on our Sunday Service page.] The second is on Friday evenings with our weekly events at 7pm which include guided meditations, silent meditations, kirtans, concerts, and other performances. See our events calendar for specific dates and details for all these events. You're also invited to join our weekday morning meditations at our residental community from 6:00-7:00am, and on Saturdays from 6:00-9:00am.
