Sunday Mornings at Ananda
Each Sunday we offer group meditation, purification and the opportunity to celebrate the joy of life in God.
Sunday Services
From 9-9:45am we first offer the Purification Ceremony. This begins with an ancient Vedic fire ceremony, providing a time of inner purification through simple ritual. We then meditate together, during which time you have an opportunity to offer yourself to God for purification, and receive a personal blessing.
From 10-11:30am we then offer our Festival of Light Sunday Service. This includes chanting, meditation, prayers, music, readings from both the Bible and the Bhagavad Gita, and an inspiration talk. The service concludes with the Festival of Light, a universal celebration of the path of inner communion with God and of the divine grace that has come to us in our age.
During Sunday Service we also offer children’s Sunday School for ages 4-11. Drawing from the book I Came from Joy (by Lorna Knox, a member of our Sangha), the children experience music, yoga postures, arts & crafts, and inspirational stories.
For parents with children under 4 years old, we have a room where parents and children can be together (there are children’s activities and toys in the room). This room has live video and audio feed of the Service.
