I grew up outside of Champaign, IL. After high school, I tried on quite a number of hats (like martial artist, model, insurance salesman, barista, public lands activist, internet technician, and biology student), but never found anything satisfying. Then Yogananda’s Autobiography came to me in 2006. I had always been fascinated with Eastern spirituality, and explored quite a bit from a young age, but nothing answered my questions until Yogananda’s teachings. Two years later, tired of being the only male vegetarian yogi in my hometown, I packed up my car, drove to Portland, and immediately connected with the Ananda community through the Art and Science of Raja Yoga. I became more involved over the next two years, and moved into the community the summer of 2010. I am currently finding life to be more exciting and fulfilling than ever by helping to share these teachings in every way I can.
